About The Artist
Senior Artist Maite Tuset
trades stock in drama. Drawing inspiration from her native Spain, she is a fan of intense eyes and rich, pigmented lips. Born in Valenecia, Tuset has since worked in Barcelona and more recently Madrid. Her career began at her mother’s makeup cupboard and quickly soared after her experimental approach gathered a dedicated army of followers. Here she shares her tips for nailing that essential summer look while always staying on-trend.
Balearic Bound
“I still have so many places to discover in the world, but the most idyllic place I have ever been is Formentera, a magical island in the Balearics. If I was flying there now, I would grab a Graphblack Technakohl Liner because I use it everywhere, Face and Body Foundation because it is perfect for a sunny place, and Haute & Naughty Lash so I can choose natural lashes or extra volume.”
Coffee and Cream
“Where I live, people follow the trends. This season the lips are the most important thing: bright colours with a natural, luminous, healthy complexion. On the other hand, I still have some favourite looks that I always come back to. I love Eye Pencil in Coffee and use it like a shadow by blurring it with the 239 Eye Shader Brush. I add more Graphblack Technakohl Liner around my eyes and a touch of lip colour, like Media Lipstick, mixed with lip balm to make it very natural. Lastly, I add another touch with the fingertips to the cheeks.”
Say Cheese!
“One day when I was working in Barcelona a guy came asking for a sponge to remove makeup. Then, as I went on to explain the different types of M·A·C makeup removers, he suddenly took a sponge and put it in his jacket. I told him, “No, no boy, you have to pay!” He acted clueless. I told him again to take out the sponge, and he laughed and said, “SMILE! You’re on TV!”
